You open a link to Incy or Happ and the App Store replies that the app is not available in your country or region. That is the Russian App Store today: Incy disappeared from it on October 27, 2026, and there are no Happ apps there either. Both clients are still in other countries' stores, and changing the country of your Apple Account is enough to download them.
Below is how to do it on iPhone and iPad in about five minutes, what to check beforehand, what happens to apps you already have and how to switch back to Russia later. The screens in this article are diagrams based on Apple's instructions updated in September 2026, not screenshots. Your iOS version may look slightly different.
Key points in a minute
- Incy and Happ are gone from the Russian App Store but are still listed in the US, Kazakhstan and other countries. To download them, set your Apple Account to any country other than Russia.
- Before switching, cancel App Store subscriptions and wait for the paid period to end, spend your Apple Account balance and leave Family Sharing. Otherwise Apple will not let you change the country.
- You do not need a bank card: choose None as the payment method and enter an address and phone number in the format of the new country.
- Installed apps stay on the phone after the switch. Updates only arrive for apps that exist in the store of your current country.
- If iCloud+ or Family Sharing gets in the way, create a separate Apple Account just for the App Store: iCloud stays on your main one.
Why Incy and Happ cannot be found in the Russian App Store
The App Store is split into storefronts by country. Which one you see depends on the country of your Apple Account, not on where you are or whether a VPN is on. Once an app is removed from the Russian storefront, search will not show it and a direct link opens a message saying it is not available in your country or region.
Incy by LLC ITDEV disappeared from the Russian App Store on October 27, 2026. Happ — Proxy Utility by Flyfrog LLC was removed back in the spring, and Happ Plus, which used to be a separate listing for Russia, was not in any store we checked as of November 1. The full story is in our article about VPN on iPhone.
Both clients are in the US App Store: Incy and Happ — Proxy Utility. On November 1, 2026 we also found them in the stores of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Germany and the UAE. Both apps are free and run on iOS 15 or later.
What to check before changing the country
Apple will not let you change the country while something on the account is still tied to the old store. Go through the list in advance: if everything is clear, the switch takes five minutes; if not, you will have to wait until the paid subscription period ends.
- Subscriptions. Cancel paid App Store subscriptions, including iCloud+ and Apple Music, and wait for the paid period to end. A cancelled subscription still blocks the change until it expires. You will find them in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Apple Account balance. Any money left on the account has to be spent. If the balance is less than the price of a single item, Apple suggests contacting its support.
- Family Sharing. Apple may not let a member of a Family Sharing group change the country. Leave the group or ask the organizer to remove you.
- Unfinished purchases. Pre-orders, movie rentals, season passes and refunds still being processed also block the change. Wait for them to finish or cancel them.
How to change the App Store region on iPhone and iPad
The quickest way is to change the country right in the App Store. At any step the iPhone may ask for Face ID or your Apple Account password. The example uses the United States: the Incy and Happ buttons in the Byte VPN dashboard lead to the US store. Other countries are covered in the next section.
Open your account settings
- Open the App Store and tap your profile picture in the top right corner.
- In the Account window, tap your name. Confirm with Face ID or your password if iOS asks.

Find the country setting
- Tap Country/Region.
- Tap Change Country or Region.

Choose the country and accept the terms
- Pick United States from the list. If a Continue button appears, tap it.
- Read the terms and conditions and tap Agree. If a confirmation window pops up, tap Agree again.

Fill in the payment details and download the app
- Under payment method choose None, fill in the billing address and tap Done. The App Store restarts in the new country's store.
- Open Incy or Happ — Proxy Utility, check the developer under the name and tap Get.

Enter the address in the format of the chosen country. For the US that is a street with a house number, a city, a state from the list, a five-digit ZIP code and a ten-digit phone number: area code plus number. If the form is rejected, check that the ZIP code belongs to the chosen state and city and that the phone number has exactly ten digits.
After installing, add your VPN service's subscription link to the app. In Incy that is the + Add button followed by Paste. We explained how a subscription differs from a single key in our article on VLESS keys and subscriptions.
If you prefer the Settings app
The same path exists in system settings: Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → Country/Region. If a menu appears after you tap Media & Purchases, choose View Account. From there everything works as in the App Store.
Which country to choose
For free apps the country hardly matters: any store that lists the client will do. We use the US because direct links to Incy and Happ in most guides point to the American store. If your account is set to another country, such a link still opens the app in your store when it is available there.
People often pick Kazakhstan for its familiar +7 phone code. Every country has its own address format, and the form itself shows which fields are required. If the client ever disappears from the chosen store too, you can change the country again the same way and under the same conditions.
Language does not depend on the store's country. The App Store stays in your phone's language, although app descriptions may be in English. Incy and Happ have a Russian interface in every country.
What changes after you switch regions
- Installed apps stay and work as before. You do not need to delete or reinstall anything.
- Updates only arrive for apps that exist in your current country's store. If an app you need is only in the Russian App Store, it will stop updating until you switch back to Russia.
- Purchases stay on the account, but you can only redownload an app missing from the new store after switching the country back.
- You can only pay in the new store with its own payment methods. The free Incy and Happ download without any payment method at all.
- Subscriptions have to be set up again, this time in the new country's store and currency.
How to switch back to Russia and keep Incy updated
You switch back the same way: profile picture → your name → Country/Region → Change Country or Region → Russia. The conditions are the same: no active subscriptions and no balance left on the account.
After switching back, Incy and Happ stay on the phone and keep working, but the App Store stops offering updates for them. When an important version comes out, you will have to switch the country again. If you do not want to do that regularly, keep a separate account for the App Store, described below.
A separate Apple Account just for the App Store
If changing the country of your main account is inconvenient, for example because of iCloud+ or Family Sharing, create a second Apple Account with a different country and use it only in the App Store. iCloud, photos, contacts and backups stay on your main account.
- Create a new Apple Account at account.apple.com and choose the country you need in the form. You will need a different email address and a phone number for verification.
- On the iPhone open Settings → your name → Media & Purchases and tap Sign Out. This does not sign you out of iCloud.
- Open the App Store, tap your profile picture and sign in with the new account.
- Download Incy or Happ, then sign out and back in to your main account the same way if you like.
The App Store updates an app under the account it was downloaded with and may ask for that account's password. So it is worth saving the second account's details in the Passwords app.
What to do if the country will not change or the app looks wrong
- The App Store says you cannot change the country. It is almost always a subscription that has not expired yet, a remaining balance or Family Sharing. Go back to the list in the section on what to check before changing the country.
- There is no None among the payment methods. Apple's own instructions warn that changing the country may require a valid payment method from the new country. If the option is missing, use a separate account.
- Search shows several similar apps. After every removal, copies with similar names and icons appear in the App Store. The real Incy is published by LLC ITDEV and Happ by Flyfrog LLC; the developer's name is shown under the app name. Opening the app from a direct link is safer than searching. Where to get the official versions of each client is collected in our article on VLESS apps.
FAQ
FAQ
Why does the App Store say the app is not available in my country?
The app was removed from the store of the country set in your Apple Account. Your location and VPN have nothing to do with it: the App Store storefront depends only on the account's country, which you can change in the account settings.
Which country should I switch to in order to download Incy or Happ?
Any country where these apps are listed, for example the US, Kazakhstan, Armenia or Georgia. We use the US because direct links to Incy and Happ usually lead to the American store.
Can I change the App Store region without a bank card?
Usually yes: when you change the country, the payment methods include None. If it is not there, create a separate Apple Account with the country you need.
Will I lose apps or photos after changing the region?
No. Installed apps stay on the phone, and changing the store country does not touch iCloud, photos or contacts. Only apps missing from the new country's store stop updating.
Will Incy update if I switch back to the Russian region?
No. Incy is not in the Russian App Store, so updates will not come. To update it, switch the country again or sign in to the App Store with a separate account.
